A word from Teresa:
Have you ever been asked the question, “What is the hardest trial you have been through?” I can think of many difficult and challenging times I have been through in my life. I have done many physical tough activities, like running 15 miles in the snow or hiking the Ozark Mountains for a week. I have been in other academically tough situations, like taking 3 graduate classes and student teaching the same semester. And my last year of teaching in VA, I was put through a challenging year with students and parents. These last 4 months (and upcoming few months) of learning French has also made it to the top of the list of my hardest trials I have been through. It has been challenging, tiring, difficult, stressful, and demanding. But just like in the other situations, God was there. He was listening when I wanted to give up, He was comforting when the times got really tough. And he was loving me every step of the way during those tough times. I am reminded of his love, comfort, grace, strength, etc. as I read Scripture.
Back in the fall, I had been having a tough week. One day when I came home from school, Matthew had started to tape Scripture onto our large armoire in our bedroom. I loved this idea and have since added more Scripture, both in English and French, as well as other quotes from books or songs. It has been very encouraging because especially on the tough days I can go over and read about God’s love for me.
