God is good..
Those of you that do regular Bible reading know the little miracles or God-incidences between life and the Word of Life.
This morning, I was a little late for work. I met the same man who had asked me why I didn’t speak Ewondo. Most of the time’s we’ve met, we just talk, though once before he did ask for money for a beignet (doughnut hole).
This morning, he called to me from across the street. He asked how I’d slept, (quite well, actually) then told me he couldn’t sleep. He showed me his infected toe and asked for money for the hospital.
Now, it’s up to me whether I choose to give money to someone or not, and this time I invested in the growing friendship, requesting simply that he show his toe to me again after getting it treated. Now here’s the cool part. When I got to the office, my Proverbs reading for today is:
Proverbs 3:27–29 (MSG) “Never walk away from someone who deserves help; your hand is God’s hand for that person. Don’t tell your neighbor “Maybe some other time” or “Try me tomorrow” when the money’s right there in your pocket.”
Wow!
